Mason has one of the most active sports communities in the Cincinnati region. From youth travel teams to adult recreational leagues at the Mason Community Center, our therapists see a diverse range of athletic profiles. We are trained in pre-event and post-event protocols and understand periodization training cycles.
What Sports Massage Addresses
Sports massage is a performance-focused application of massage therapy that draws on deep tissue work, compression, broadening strokes, and facilitated stretching to support athletes before, during, and after competition or training. It is not a gentler or harder version of regular massage — it is a different methodology entirely, organized around the physiology of exercise and recovery.
- Accelerates lactic acid and metabolic waste clearance after intense training
- Reduces delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) duration and severity
- Improves flexibility and joint range of motion through facilitated stretching
- Identifies developing tension and adhesion patterns before they become injuries
- Enhances neuromuscular readiness before competition
- Supports mental focus and body awareness in high-performance athletes
